Mindreading
We’ve learned that one of the challenges of having a 21 month old who is on the verge of speaking in complete sentences and a 7 week old who will occasionally make a noise that isn’t a cry, is finding a way to have them communicate.
Grace tries very hard to find meaning in some of the noises Lucy makes (she insists Lucy said the word “egg” the other day), but also found another tactic: mindreading. Here’s Grace tapping into Lucy’s brainwaves trying to unlock the key to what must be some pretty complex thoughts:

Having communicated in their new, rather supernatural way, the two decided to pose for a picture:

Having tapped into Lucy’s innermost thoughts and learning that she was struggling to meet that 2 - 6 week “social smile” milestone, Grace decided to show Lucy her two best:
