For the faithful followers of Fuchster.com, it should be no surprise that the photos we took in anticipation of sending out Christmas cards didn’t really meet professional standards. After 263 painstaking shots, we finally found two mediocre pictures that will appear in the cards that we’re sending out (late of course). In anticipation, here are a few of the outtakes from the photo shoot. It should be pretty obvious why they didn’t make the cut.

First we start with the “completely missing the subject” shot:

Followed by everyone’s favorite: “arm blocking the face”:

This next shot shows a little progress - at least we got most of the arm out of the shot:

And of course, not all bad toddler shots are the fault of the parents, sometimes Grace just isn’t in the mood to wear a hat:

We did get a little better as the day progressed, here’s “close but the subject is a little off center and her chin is cropped”:

Hopefully you enjoy the ones on the Christmas card a little better.

For some, “festival of lights” means 8 days of presents, for Grace it means identify every light you pass on the street as a “light” and when you actually see lights that you can touch, wrap yourself in them like a cloak. So here she is celebrating in her own special way (notice how she hid one behind her ear to make it look like an earring):

After untangling her from the lights, Grace’s Dad sits her down for a little “how to decorate a tree” tutorial. Key lesson: Don’t remove food from your mouth and hang it on the tree.

After her lesson, Grace jumped right in, grabbing ornaments and placing them on the tree:

Afterwards, Grace shows us exactly how hard she worked:
