The Great Outdoors
Better than a pacifier, a fruit roll-up or rummaging through their mother’s underwear drawer, the simple act of going outside seems to have a way of inspiring Grace and Lucy to find a level of peace and inner calm. With the apartment averaging 20 degrees hotter than the weather outside, we’re feeling a bit nomadic these days. Fortunately, that’s 100% OK with the girls.
Nothing quite says nature like the smell of Canadian Goose in Central Park - somehow, the strange smells didn’t bother Grace and Lucy and we actually got them to sit still for a picture:

Grace was so excited to see a stick that she, much to our dismay, touched all of them:

Here’s a few from a couple weeks back from Longwood Gardens outside of Philadelphia. Grace and Lucy’s Aunt Linda and Uncle John met the girls there, and, keeping with the “strange smells” theme of this posting, Grace was treated to an endless afternoon of splashing around in non-potable water:

Grace would like to remind everyone to always stop and smell the flowers:

Although she’s not quite old enough to try it out yet, we suspect that Lucy is looking forward to going for a bike ride with her Grandpa one of these days. Here they are discussing a few of the preferred routes around Manhattan. Seems like Grandpa is signaling a route that will take them north.
