Now that Grace is a regular biker, her world has opened up significantly. For example, just the other day, she stumbled upon a few seals sunning themselves on the shore of the East River - and being the fearless girl that she is, went right up to them and, using her vast knowledge of American Sign Language, told them that she wanted to eat:

At first they ignored her, so she thought by cheering loudly she could get a little attention (which seemed, at least in her mind, to eventually work):
With the sport of cycling in desperate need of a new role model amidst recent scandals, Grace decided to toss her hat in the ring at 13 months. Like any good cyclist, she performs a thorough inspection of the equipment before she even considers starting her ride:

After signaling to her dad that she indeed found something that needed attention, Grace was ready to “suit up” and head down the west side of Manhattan:

Unlike other cyclists, who measure success by their speed or endurance, (or the quantity of brand names they can fit on their biking jersey), Grace measures success by how many new and interesting sites she can find. Here we see an instant winner as Grace celebrates the discovery of a dog-free zone in Manhattan (nothing says “everything is OK in the world” like a dog-free zone!)
