It’s every parent’s dream that their daughter one day grows up to be a…duck? Maybe not what we initially thought for her, but Grace seemed comfortable in her new role as an anas platyrhynchos:

She took the show on the road and headed up to Grand Central Station for the annual Halloween Fest where they had exactly 4 different varieties of candy - fortunately, Grace has inherited her love of all things chocolate from her parents:

Grace then decided to show her newly found life direction with her classmates - although it turns out many of them had very similar ideas themselves this time of year (one boy even mistakingly thought he would be Spiderman - forgetting to consult Grace’s Dad first):

Finally, Grace decided to descend upon the Greenwich Village Halloween Parade, where she learned that an 18-month old in a Duck costume is also the Japanese symbol for peace:

Grace was reviewing her site the other day and noticed that a few key events were missing from her Web log. Many of them were ruined by her father’s lack of skill with a camera - so we met her halfway and agreed to post a few of her favorites.
The first is a shot of her and her Mom at Ann & Josh’s wedding:

The second set is a series of shots from her working the Bryant Park reading room in NYC - where Grace enjoys testing out of of the newest (and lamest) titles in children’s literature.

While we’re posting random photos, Grace wanted you to see her 1940’s-style fall coat:

And finally, despite all of the toys, books and games people have sent her, Grace’s favorite activity still seems to be playing in the laundry basket (she’s partial to clean clothes):

We’ve developed a little ritual here at the Fuchster household. Grace hangs out by the front door listening to the sounds of people entering and leaving our building. She’s learned what her friend Maya sounds like and gets extremely excited when she hears her and immediately asks to go outside.
Instead, we open the door and Maya comes over and plays and teaches Grace all of her dance moves:

After Maya left, and with Halloween fast approaching, Grace thought she’d spend a little time selecting that perfect pumpkin for the occasion:

During the selection process she ran into a few circus folks who tried to recruit her to run away with them and become a clown:
